Feeding bread causes permanent damage to ducks and geese. They develop angel wing. They can not migrate or fly to avoid predators. PLEASE DO NOT FEED BREAD to ducks and geese. Cracked corn, corn, peas, mealworms, romaine lettuce, watermelon, grapes CUT into pieces, cantaloupe……are a few good options!

Signs of illness in birds (and other exotic pets) can sometimes be subtle. Since prey animals like birds hide illness, if you notice something seems a bit off, it is best to play it safe and get your bird a checkup.

It is much better for your bird to be seen by a veterinarian when the bird first shows minor symptoms as opposed to when your pet becomes extremely ill. If a pet is really sick, we may have to provide supportive care and wait for your pet to become more stable before the doctor is able to do the diagnostics.

Keep an eye on your bird for any changes. Know your bird and watch the behavior, appetite, water intake, physical appearance, feathers, breathing, sleeping, and of course, check out the p**p everyday! 🦜💩
