AwakenKoselig

AwakenKoselig come with me on a journey to find cozy contentment in your everyday through my Lord and Savior, Jesus Plus, I am cold ALL THE TIME (just ask my husband).

From one perpetually cold person to another, these are my creations for you. Have you ever scrolled through Pinterest and had one particular piece of furniture, art, or clothing just pop out at you? Then you clicked through to see how much it was and instantly tried to forget about it because it was way out of your price range? Yeah, this happens to me ALL THE TIME and usually my thoughts take me

to how I could make the same item myself. Well, that is where DIY Daydreams came from—whether at work, in class, or during dinner with the ‘rents, I was always thinking of things that I could make, create, or just have fun with. Recently, I found my daydreams started shifting towards crocheting —a new pattern that I was dreaming up, a sweater that I really wished I owned, or ways to make crochet more modern and less granny-ish. It got to the point where all I could think of was crochet and buying new yarn to make the pretty things I dreamed about. So, teaching myself how to crochet and making my own scarves/beanies just seemed like the right course of action. But, I could only afford so many skeins of yarn before I would have to resort to selling my car. So, I had to think of a new way to fuel my passion. That’s when I decided to create this Etsy shop. It’s really a win-win for all of us! I can do what I love (crochet), and make beautiful things for you to wear (scarves, headbands, beanies, etc). Only through your purchases can I find new and exciting ways to bring my dreams to life! I hope you love all the items in my shop (they were created specifically for you) and I hope they keep you warm! *This* is where it's at. Ladies coming together, praising our Savior!! It gave me chills listening to everyone sing.

I love these ladies. I love this church. God is moving and I'm so honored to be a part of it.

If you were missing me last week, this is where I was! Prepping to serve these lovely ladies.

Plans. They have a funny way of getting messed up and changed even with the best planning. I have honestly given up trying to plan this for this business. I usually make it about 2 weeks (maybe a month) before the Lord changes things up and I'm on to something else. Which I've learned to just roll with. He's in control of this site, not me, and I'm ok with whatever curve balls he wants to throw my way.

With that said, things this week are going to look a little quieter. Our church's Ladies Time Away is this weekend, and I'm in full prep mode to prayerfully prepare to encourage and strengthen these ladies the Lord has placed in my care.

This is just a friendly heads up that the bracelets are live on the site! Including these kids biblical identity bracelets! 🎉

Here are all your options:

Three color variations, each with a Czech seed bead bracelet depicting a name of God, a wooden bead bracelet representing our identity through the lens of that name, and a gold chain for accent.

There are 5 additional plain seed bead/wooden bead accent bracelets you can add on to your stack!

And they'll come in two different sizes: S/M is 7" circumference and L/XL has a 7.5" circumference.

I'm hoping to have preorders up on the site by tomorrow and shipping out by the end of the month! I'm just waiting on packing to be finalized so they'll all be Mother's Day ready!

Alright friends!! I need your help! Please comment below and let me know which one you'd prefer.

Photo #2 is the basic bracelet stack that will be available: the name of God, your identity according to that name, and a chain bracelet.

Photo #1 shows what it would look like if I added a couple more coordinating bracelets to the stack to make it a set of 5 instead of a set of 3.

Would you prefer the basic stack and then the ability to add on extras if you want? Or would you want the extra bracelets as part of the original offering? Obviously the price would be higher for the stack of 5 vs the stack of 3, so if that would be a contention for you, please vote for photo #2.

I've been reading Isaiah 53 the last couple days in reflection of Good Friday and each time I stop at verse 3: "a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief."

To be honest, I'm not really sure yet what the full picture of what he's telling me is, but I do know this: Jesus grieves for His people, for their hearts, for their situations, knowing that sin broke what was supposed to be beautiful and good. He grieves for the situation you're currently walking. He grieves with you in your loss. He grieves for the lost souls you're working together to bring to the light.

Whatever grieves your heart, know that it grieves His much more because His love and His capacity for grief is much deeper than our own. A man of sorrows who gave up everything just so we could have joy and victory and peace in His name.

Jesus was full of sorrow as He walked to His death but He did it willingly knowing the peace and victory it would bring you. You. He did it for you. "Upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace."

Today, on Good Friday, I am so thankful for His sacrifice for me. Not because of what He had to go through, but because now I can confidently say, "I am Yours, and You are mine."

Can I tell you about my heart for a bit?

My deepest desire with Awaken Koselig is not just to provide you with heirloom quality cozy beanies and loveys. Don't get me wrong, I love making these for you all!! But at the end of the day, they don't bring you wholeness and life.

My heart, above all, is that each one of you experiences the wholeness and peace and joy that comes from surrendering to Jesus!!

For years, I've been trying to figure out products that go beyond just a beanie and really are aimed at helping you grow closer to Jesus. I had this idea for identity bracelets a year ago, but couldn't ever figure out the design for them. They've been sitting in the back of my mind since then, almost aching in my heart knowing the truth that they could help you with.

Finally, I feel like God's given me the vision to finally bring these sets to life. Identity reminders that don't just tell of our identity in Him, but also remind you of the name of God that correlates to that identity. So for example, our "be still" bracelet would be paired with our "Yahweh" bracelet, so that you remember your identity to be still and trust the immeasurable greatness and sovereignty of our God (Psalm 46:10).

And there will be kids versions as well! The last picture shows colorful identity children's bracelets, so even they can look at their wrist and remember who they are because of WHOSE they are.

All of them, meant to give you a deep breath, an exhale if you will, in an act of surrender, to remind yourself throughout your day of the identity that you hold as a child of God.

So this is my work table today. Hopefully these sets are coming soon ❤️

You know the most used and most underrated item in my entire lineup? The trivet. A mighty workhorse for your kitchen. I use mine weekly! And having a pretty one on hand: priceless.

These are made with 100% cotton so they're machine washable, and I make mine extra big so you can use them with your biggest pots.

They're my favorite.

Someone asked me the other day, "What's your favorite book of the Bible?"

Hosea, I quickly answered.

"Really? Hosea?"

Yep. A thousand times, yes. I'll admit, it's not a very common book of the Bible. It's often lumped in with the doom and gloom of the other prophet books. But it's not about the book itself, but what the Lord taught me from it.

You see, I struggled a ton with self worth. I always thought I wasn't good enough, that I had to earn my way, or that I could never be what was asked of me. Grace was a foreign concept.

And the book of Hosea, when read in the context of Jesus as Hosea and myself as his wife, directly combats this viewpoint. It says, "You can't earn it. That's the point. But my love is big enough and strong enough to pursue you anyway and make a way for you when there is no way."

There are so many "But, God....." statements in Hosea, reminding us that in spite of ourselves, God pursued us. He desires to be with us. CHOSE us. FOUGHT FOR US, all for a chance to be in eternity with us.

He healed my heart and changed the way I see His sacrifice on the cross for me. For me. For you. Let that sink in. So, yeah, Hosea will forever be my favorite book of the Bible.

What's your favorite book of the Bible?
