Bees lives are hard enough without us killing flowering w**ds that feed them

This tiny honeybee has fallen still, her legs dusted with golden dandelion pollen. her final meal. Her tongue hangs out, a sign of the poison that took her life. The very plants that should have nourished her were covered in chemicals meant to erase what we call “w**ds.”

In early spring, dandelions are among the first foods for bees. Long before fruit trees or flowers bloom, these simple yellow blossoms feed entire colonies. When we spray w**d killer, we destroy the first and sometimes only meal they have until summer.

Please wait before spraying. Let the dandelions bloom, let the bees eat. Without bees, there will be no fruit, no crops, and no food for us. Protect them, they are small, but the world depends on their wings.

Rough night for the bees... cold, wind and rain makes it hard for the foragers to make it back to the hive. Found this little worker outside the hive with all this pollen. I brought her inside to warm her up and gave her a little sugar water and now we are headed back out to put her at the entrance. Good luck lady bee 😘
