Have you visited the giant Scheels store off Interquest Parkway? We finally went yesterday and our kids rode the giant ferris wheel inside the store for $1 each. We checked out their clothes, shoes, home goods, sporting goods, candy store, fudge shop, snack bar, ice cream counter, toy store and mini bowling alley. What a place!!

"The Colorado Springs Scheels opened its doors in March 2021, bringing a 220,000-square-foot shopping destination unlike any other to the area. With two levels of retail, the store offers something for everyone—from leading fashion brands to hiking, fishing, and hunting gear—making it a go-to spot for everyone.

Some of their most popular in-store attractions include:

A 65-foot indoor Ferris wheel and a 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium.

Ginna’s Café, serving specialty coffee, lunch, and treats, alongside Fuzziwig’s Candy Factory.

Interactive games and photo opportunities throughout the store.

Expert Services & Specialty Shops:

Whether you’re preparing for your next hike, hunt, or family outing, their experts are trained to help you find the right gear.

Scheels also offers a variety of services to keep gear performing season after season, including:

Bike repairs and tune-ups
Golf fittings
Ski & snowboard services

Community Involvement:
As an employee-owned company, Colorado Springs Scheels is dedicated to making the community stronger. Through volunteering, hosting in-store events, and partnering with local organizations, the store gives oback to the Colorado Springs area."

Have you been up to the Will Rogers Shrine to visit? It's located 1.4 miles up a switchback road above the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. You do have to purchase a Zoo ticket to visit.

This historic monument was built by Spencer Penrose between 1934 and 1937, it stands dedicated to Will Rogers, who died in a plane crash in 1935. The elevation of the Will Rogers Shrine is 8,136 feet on the top deck and provides breathtaking views of Colorado Springs, the Pikes Peak Region and Eastern Plains.

⏰ Shrine Hours:
Open Tuesdays – Saturdays, from 9 – 4 p.m. (last Ride to the Shrine guided tour starts at 2 p.m.)
Closed on all Sundays & Mondays.

Cost to visit the Shrine:
– Your Zoo admission includes a drive to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun for that day, whether you choose to visit the Zoo or not.
– You must have paid Zoo admission for each person going up to the Shrine. Advance timed Zoo tickets are required.
- If you visit the zoo on a Sunday or Monday, you can come back to see the shrine on a different day when the shrine is open, within two weeks of your zoo visit.

🐎 Have you been looking for a spot to check out some horse riding and roping? We visited Latigo, out in Falcon, this morning and enjoyed lunch from their on-site restaurant, the Buck & Blue's Grill. You have to try their homemade mud pie! We enjoyed our food to-go and sat upstairs at a table overlooking the rodeo arena, we observed kids competing in horse slolom and roping while we tried their brisket quesadilla and chicken club sandwich with bacon.

The Latigo events center also has a large horse supply store and historic memorabilia on the walls. Recommend! ⭐

The new Long Neck Cafe, gift shop and new exit area of Cheyenne Mountain Zoo opened on Thursday! We enjoyed exploring its brand new admissions area, seeing their 200 sculptures and getting a first look at the future giraffe center that will open later this summer.

We love this zoo situated on the mountain and also love visiting the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun, built high above the zoo overlooking Colorado Springs.

👀 Who's planning to watch the Thunderbirds in Colorado Springs tomorrow as they perform for the Air Force Graduation!? 🎓

The Air Force Academy Airfield Overlook off of southbound I-25 is a good viewing spot for today's practice and tomorrow's flyover. ✈️

📚 Remember the Pizza Hut "Book It" program? They're offering it again this summer to kids ages Pre-K through 6th grade. I loved those little pizzas and I remember those big plastic red cups! 🥤

🍕 I'm so glad Pizza Hut is bringing some of their stores back to their original look and style!

* See link to sign your kids up for the Book It program in the comments 👇
