New Member: David (Dave) Babineau is the co-owner of Warrior Woodworking and a proud Iraq War veteran whose life has been shaped by a commitment to public service. His background includes serving as a Military Police Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and later with the U.S. Air Force Security Forces, retiring as a Technical Sergeant from Hanscom Air Force Base in 2012. For 20 years, he also served the Town of Concord as a Correctional Officer, retiring from the Northeast Correctional Center (the Concord Farm). His two decades of service in Concord gave him a deep connection to the town and firsthand experience with addiction, trauma, incarceration, reentry, and the challenges faced by veterans and their families. Driven by these experiences, Dave pursued mental health and recovery advocacy. Today, he is a licensed alcohol and drug counselor in Massachusetts with advanced certifications from the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) in crisis intervention, trauma, and su***de prevention. He is now putting this expertise into action through Warrior Woodworking, a new nonprofit startup facility in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Launching in 2027, the program will provide veterans seeking support with opportunities to build skills, confidence, purpose, and meaningful connections through woodworking. Dave is honored to continue his tradition of local service through the Rotary Club of Concord and live out the guiding principle of “Service Above Self."
