To all of our new followers and future guests/clients, allow me to introduce you to the crew who owns and operates Salmon Run Lodge.
We are the Drager family: Jayden, Tycie, Jorja (20), Jayda (19), and Jemma (16). ❤️
The top picture is where we began this journey. Taken in the summer of 2017, our first season in Alaska. Many prayers were sent up that summer and many unknowns of what lay ahead for us in the future with this little business we took over. Our goal was to show our kids what good work ethic meant and what it takes to own a family business. We were awestruck of the beauty of this place and a lot of "firsts" were had: first salmon flossed, first halibut reeled up from the ocean floor, first beautiful rainbow trout caught on a fly, first time seeing a moose and a bear up close, first time foraging for wild blueberries...the list goes on.
Fast forward 10 years, and this place STILL takes our breath away! You know you're in the right profession of your life when your job doesn't feel like a job. Don't get me wrong, there are hard long days and working with your family can get "moody" at times, but there's an unspoken peace in our hearts that we KNOW this is where we need to be until God calls us to do something different. Our hope and prayer as we enter our 10th season is that you'll see a hardworking and devoted family working together to make your Alaskan experience enjoyable. You may be a guest in one of our rooms, a client bringing your fish to get processed or a tackle shop customer looking for the perfect fly for that monster catch. Whatever brings you to our doorstep, may you feel the love and warmth we give to keep Salmon Run Lodge successfully operating. Thank you for supporting this little family owned and operated business. We appreciate you and are looking forward to serving you this summer. 🎣
