Road construction (no closures) coming in 2026.
MARINE MAX BRIDGE UPDATE:
Over the past year to year-and-a-half, youโve heard talk about the Marine Max Bridge project. I wanted to provide a brief update.
First, itโs important to remember that the bridge is owned and maintained by Crow Wing County. The project is currently slated for this summer and will involve removing the existing asphalt to the bottom course and fully redecking the bridge.
As you can imagine, a project of this scale will take several months.
The City of Crosslake and Crow Wing County continue to maintain a strong working relationship, and weโre grateful for that partnership. From the beginning, the City has clearly advocated for keeping one lane of traffic open during construction. We understand that we are essentially a one-road town, and this bridge is vital for local businesses, residents, and tourism.
As of now, what we are being told is the plan is to keep the bridge OPEN to ONE LANE of traffic at all times, managed either by temporary traffic signals or flaggers, depending on the phase of construction.
The anticipated timeline is early June through early September.
While this wonโt be the most convenient, we are encouraged by the verbal agreement to maintain one-lane access throughout the project. I will continue to keep you updated as more details are finalized.
We must keep the bridge open to one lane of traffic to protect public safety, preserve mobility, and support our local economy.
