“So wait… why are you doing this?”
Okay, believe us, we tried but sadly, not EVERYTHING can be about golf carts. 😂
The answer is pretty simple we wanted people to SEE Downtown Hattiesburg the way we do.
Hattiesburg After Dark started as one of those “I wonder if we could…” conversations among friends. Something fun. A little ambitious. And definitely worth trying.
Then Visit Hattiesburg believed in it.
Their support through the Tourism Grant Program gave this crazy little idea its first real YES, and a chance to build something people could see, get excited about and rally behind.
Since then, some incredible sponsors and community partners have joined us, and now somehow… we actually pulled it off.
For five nights, Downtown Hattiesburg will become a canvas of light, technology, local art and a little Holiday magic.
“Ok, so what IS it?” That’s the next question we get most 🤣
The non-technical answer? We’re using some very cool technology (we’ll spare you the lumens, lenses and other nerdy details but think 6 figures 😂) to transform familiar downtown buildings with light, movement, local art and a little Halloween magic.
But the best way to understand projection mapping is honestly just to SEE it. Walk the SELF-ie Trail, explore downtown, take pictures, share them and see some familiar places a little differently. And prizes? Only BOO knows. 👻
What we can promise is a fun, family-friendly experience created just for Hattiesburg and only here for five nights.
It’s pretty wild to watch “I wonder if we could…” turn into “look what we did.”
