Not gonna lie, it was worth every penny!
I laugh a little when people complain about the pricing here in Durango because Iām that person who will spend $125/night for a spot I want.
I think the biggest lesson in RV life/travel that comes into play now that we manage a 6-figure RV park, is that every person values different things.
Having travelled to destination hot spots as well as the middle of nowhere, weāve come to understand, rates are completely dependent upon region.
āExclusivityā like this park along the coast of Maine, 30-minutes from Accadia NP, that offers ocean front decks, comes with a higher price tag.
Durango, comes with a higher price tag.
But the I remember the random RV park along the Texas panhandle- Route 66 - with the HUGE rv spaces, a donkey, and the most northeast sunset, and it was only $50-something/night.
So lower cost doesnāt mean it sucks.
Higher cost doesnāt guarantee anything.
Cause, yes, this RV spot was EPIC. The showers were NOT. š¤£
They also charged you for the honey wagon! š©
Still loved it.
We once stayed right along the city limits in New Orleans, which as you can imagine, came with a higher š°.
There was garbage around our site!
And yet, they had hot tubs!
We always look for what we like rather than what we donāt.
As a general manager, Iām getting very practiced at dealing with people who get stuck in what they donāt like and are happy to complain about itā¦.
If you can be miserable while RV-ing and stay mad when you see the red rock views of our park, then I donāt know what to sayā¦.
Let each experience be an experience!
Love the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Iād love to hear some of your most memorable stays in an RV below!
