As you can see from the video, the air quality is beautiful here in Ely today. This view is from our dock, and it’s a great reminder of why we love this place so much. Blue skies, clear views, and a beautiful Northwoods day. 💙

The recent smoke and wildfires have created some challenging conditions throughout the area, but we are very thankful for the improved air quality and the progress being made by the many crews and officials working hard on the situation.

We are continuing to monitor updates closely and will keep our guests informed as conditions and any closures change. Our hope is that the cooler weather, improved conditions, and resources in place allow for continued progress in the days ahead.

Thank you to everyone who has been patient, understanding, and supportive during this unusual stretch.

The Forest will continue to make daily assessments on the ability to open portions of the BWCAW. When possible, we will provide four days’ notice if future cancellations are needed so the public can plan accordingly.
