-Visitor Notice for Tennessee’s Amish Country-

This Thursday, May 14th, many Amish-owned businesses in and around Ethridge and Lawrence County will be closed in observance of Ascension Day — an important Christian holiday celebrated 40 days after Easter that commemorates the ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven.

For the Amish community, this is a day centered around worship, faith, family, and time together away from regular business activities. We appreciate visitors helping us honor and respect this meaningful tradition.

If you’re traveling through the area, there’s still plenty to explore throughout Lawrence County! We encourage visitors to enjoy our local restaurants, boutiques, antique stores, specialty shops, and small businesses in our downtown areas and surrounding communities while Amish shops are closed for the holiday.

Thank you for supporting all of the local businesses that make our community special, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back after the holiday. 🤍

Plowboy Produce Auction says April 11th is the day y'all go home broke 💰 this year! Come get your Amish-made furniture, produce, and leather-goods at their annual cosignment sale.

We've got a few sites available and plenty of parking space to keep your truck and trailer hooked up during your entire stay.
