This might be the most scenic rail trail in Maine.
We rode the Narrow Gauge Trail in Carrabassett Valley — a little over 10 miles round trip. You have to work for the steady gradual climb heading out, but get to enjoy the downhill on the way back. Side trails branch off throughout the ride that offer a variety of difficulty levels.

Just 20 minutes from The Chalet in Eustis, this is one of our favorite rides to send guests on. Stop at the picnic tables by the river, wade in, and take in the mountain views.
