We are happy to introduce our new Director of Our Lady of Good Counsel Camp, Mark DeNote!

Mark spent ten years teaching in Catholic schools and the last seven years working as a marketing and communications professional. Mark brings that knowledge to his new role as camp director. Mark may be familiar to some; his history with Our Lady of Good Counsel Camp dates back to the early 1990s as both a camper and a counselor.

“I am very excited to take the helm of Our Lady of Good Counsel Camp and follow the great example of past camp directors,” Mark states. “This is an exciting time for everyone involved and a great opportunity to move camp into a bright future. The most exciting news I can bring to the role of director is this: Our Lady of Good Counsel Camp will return to its summer program in 2026.”

Look for further announcements coming soon on Our Lady of Good Counsel Camp’s dates. Applications for counselors and staff will open before the end of the year, and camper applications are expected to open the first week of January 2026.

All this year, supporters of Good Counsel Camp have been working diligently behind the scenes on short and long-term projects that improve safety, security and facilities on the 144-acre property.

We are excited to announce a new Master Planning process has started at Good Counsel Camp to update camp facilities and enhance programming. These improvements are much needed and will provide the foundation for long-term success for future generations.

The Camp’s Board of Directors recommended that Good Counsel Camp proceed as expeditiously as possible and suspend operations of the summer camp program for 2025. Bishop Gregory Parkes accepted this recommendation. This means Good Counsel Summer Camp for 7–15-year-olds is suspended for 2025. But 2026 opportunities are expected to be better than ever before!
