“Fiesta” is the theme of the 29th annual Scholarship Fest, set for Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds. Guests are encouraged to wear festive attire. Gates open at 4 p.m. with appetizers, games, silent auction and prize drawings. A brisket meal will follow at 6 p.m. Gillespie County Fair and Festivals Association has awarded more than $750,000 in scholarships to area youth. Unplug in the country
We enjoyed the quiet, the cows, the llamas and the little house was a great getaway. You are 20+ minutes to anything, but that's the point. The night sky was amazing. Thank you to our host for opening up their property to us.

🚨 Burn Ban Enacted for Gillespie County 🚨

The Gillespie County Commissioners Court has enacted a burn ban. All open burning is prohibited in the unincorporated areas of Gillespie County, except for burning in approved enclosures like trash barrels with a mesh cover and charcoal grills.

🔥 Why the Ban? Due to dry conditions and lack of significant rainfall, open burning poses a severe wildfire risk, endangering lives and property.

⚠️ Penalties: Violating this order is a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $500.
