Very cold day.
We arrive… and this is what we see.

No thermostat on the wall.

Just wires.

Somewhere between guests and turnover, it was knocked off, broken, removed… we’re not exactly sure. What we did know was this:

There was no way to turn on the heat.

Moments like this remind you quickly that hospitality is not about how beautiful a space looks. It’s about how well it functions when something unexpected happens.

We had installed a high-end digital control unit. Touch screen. WiFi connected. Advanced.

And also very easy to tamper with.

After this experience, we made a change. We replaced it with a simpler, sturdier control unit.

Arrow up means warmer.
Arrow down means cooler.
No complicated menus.
No fragile screens.

Sometimes the upgrade is not more technology.
It is more reliability.

So for all future guests we made sure they will be warm and cozy at The Willows.

Simple works.
