In 2009 The Association of Bridal Consultants Annual Conference was hosted here in downtown Indy at the Hyatt and the Keynote speaker was Sylvia Weinstock. It was such a honor to have the wedding cake icon in our city. Even moreso, one of own, Angela Talley (now in Nashville, TN) photographed many of her cakes included in her books because one of Angela's images included Sylvia at the wedding helping the couple cut their cake. (*At the time, it was the only wedding Sylvia ever attended, therefore it was the only wedding cake she'd ever seen one of her couples actually enjoy.)

It was such moment of pride for our city to hear these stories and to see her share these images as she signed her book for our guests before dancing the night away at dinner at the Columbia Club.

Yesterday many of our members and industry shared their memories of Sylvia Weinstock with her passing. We are so honored we could all celebrate the life of the world's most esteemed cake baker. May she rest in peace.

Several of our members have had flights diverted or canceled either to or from Indy and now have no way to the resort. There are several unclaimed checks at the ABC Corporate office. If you do not fill out Form 3 and Final Step you can't get paid.
