Today, we learned that the ark of the covenant was a physical reminder of God’s tangible presence with His people. The Israelites did not treat the Ark of the Covenant with reverence. The consequences left many dead in the war against the Philistines. We learned that Jesus is better than the ark because He is always with us. We have confidence in this because no matter what we face, God’s Holy Spirit is with us and we can go before God daily because of Jesus.

Christ Connection:
The ark of God reminded the Israelites that God was with them. Many years later, God gave His people something even better to remind them that He was with them. God sent His Son, Jesus. One of Jesus’ names is Immanuel, which means “God with Us”.

Today we learned about an incredible story about Ruth. We learned how gracious our God is and what it looks like to trust God in the hard seasons of life. We are outsiders who have no hope in a world cursed by sin. But God did not leave us that way. He provides for us, sustains us, and ultimately redeems us through Jesus Christ.

Christ Connection:
Boaz was a family redeemer. He helped his close relatives. Boaz bought back what his relatives lost. Jesus is our Redeemer. He bought our salvation by dying on the cross for our sin.

On Sunday, we learned that after the flood, Noah’s family increased the earth’s population. But along the way, they decided to ignore God’s command to spread out and subdue the earth for God’s glory. Instead, people built a tower to show their greatness. So God confused their language and scattered them all over the Earth. So the tower was unfinished and the city was called Babel.

Story Point: People tried to make themselves famous instead of God. God mixed up their language so the people spread out over the earth. One day, Jesus will bring His people back together. People from every group and language will worship Him together.

This Sunday, we learned about Noah’s Ark and God’s many promises He made since the beginning of time. God destroyed all living beings except Noah and his family because of their sin.
This happened to show that God keeps His promise to preserve a remnant of His people always. God is always faithful and true. He never lies and will not turn back from His word and we can trust Him completely.

Story Point: God rescued Noah and his family from the flood. Later, there was an even greater rescue! Jesus came to save people from sin. When we trust in Jesus, He saves us from the punishment for our sin.

Today, we learned about Cain and Abel and the consequences of sin, death. What God had warned Adam and Eve about had come to fruition. Jealously never produces anything Godly in us. It’s not what we do or can do that make our identity, it’s what God has done for us through Christ.
We must fight the urge to compete with others and trust in the finished work of Christ which made us new.

Story Point: Adam and Eve’s sin spread to their family. But God did not forget his promise to send a Rescuer. At just the right time, God would send His Son to save sinners.

This Sunday, we learned that Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. Since then, sin entered the world and everyone became sinners. Sin is a big problem that needs a big solution. At just the right time, God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world, born as a baby. We rejoice because Jesus saved us from sin and we are forgiven forever!

Story Point: Everything was different after Adam and Eve sinned. Since then, all people have been sinners. Sin keeps us from God, but God never stops loving us. He sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue people from sin and bring them back to God.

Today we learned, “what is God’s glory?” God’s glory can be thought as God’s greatness. The Bible often uses picture of a brilliant white light when it comes to God’s glory. But we can also see God’s glory when we look at all of His creations. One of the greatest ways we can know of God’s glory is that the Creator who made everything not only made us but wants to have a friendship with us. That is why He gave us the Bible, so that we might come to know Him, love Him and live for Him.

Story Point: All of creation shows how great God is. Jesus is the best way we can know how great God is.

Yesterday we learned that humans are a center of everything God created. Our God has made people to be special in all of His creation and designed us to be in relationship with him. Every person bears God’s image. We are like God in ways that the rest of creation is not. God gives us ability to reason, feel emotions, and understand right and wrong. Jesus is the perfect image of the invisible God. (Col. 1:15)

Story Point: God created people in His own image. He loves us and gives us everything we need. People are special because God made us to know and love Him. Through Jesus, we can know and love God just as He planned.
