💔 The Smoky Mountains lost one of its brightest lights today.

Dolly Parton was so much more than a country music legend. She was the heart of East Tennessee—a woman who never forgot where she came from and spent her life giving back to the people and communities she loved.

For so many of our Blue Bear Lodge guests, a trip to the Smoky Mountains means experiencing a little piece of the world Dolly helped make so special. Her music, her kindness, her humor, and her love for these mountains will forever be part of Tennessee.

There’s nothing quite like enjoying the Smokies and getting a glimpse of one of its most famous residents — from a safe distance, of course! 😉

Hello August 🌻

August in the Smoky Mountains🐻 is a transitional month…Most of the month, crowds are plentiful and the sun is scorching hot ☀️ Then towards the end, crowds begin to thin (slightly) as kids return to school, and the heat becomes less harsh…But while the end of summer is right around the corner, there’s still plenty of time to soak up some last-minute fun in the Smoky Mountains 🏔 🐻🏔🐻

If you're visiting the Smokies during the warmer months, tubing at Deep Creek is a fun way to spend an afternoon. Located near Bryson City, this beautiful area of Great Smoky Mountains National Park is known for its crystal-clear water, gentle rapids, and scenic surroundings.
