Lew and Jared fabricated this solar panel mount and mast (and the lifting rig to set it) for a head gate automation project at the mouth of the Big Thompson Canyon. It should withstand 120+ MPH winds. 240 watts ar 24Vdc.

How to get an area-velocity meter to measure small flows but maintain a pretty wide flow range.

Lots of fun with geometry to make that area calculation...

A = wh - 2h(r-SQRT(r^2-h^2)) - (2Arcsin(h/r)-sin(2Arcsin(h/r))/2r^2

Q = AV

V and h are measured directly by the Greyline Bigfoot area-velocity sensor. The rest are geometric constants.
