⚠️ Increased thirst

No matter the situation, many of us deal with stress throughout our daily lives.

National Stress Awareness Day was created by the International Stress Management Association (IMSA) to help people recognize, manage, and reduce stress in their personal and professional lives. Fortunately, pets come with some significant health benefits. They increase opportunities to exercise, get outside, and socialize. Regular walking or playing with pets can decrease blood pressure, cholesterol levels and triglyceride levels.

Tell us how your best bud helps you keep stress at bay. 👅👇

Happy Howl-oween to all of our amazing patients and their people! We hope it’s fang-tastic. 🎃

While you’re all celebrating, keep the following safety tips for your four-legged family members in mind:

- Don’t feed your pets Halloween candy, especially if it contains chocolate or xylitol.
- Ensure your pet is properly identified via microchip, collar and ID tag.
- Keep lit candles out of reach.
- Provide your pet with a safe space, especially if he or she has a tendency to be nervous or aggressive.
- If you plan to put a costume on your pet, make sure it fits properly and is comfortable. Take time to get your pet accustomed to the costume before Halloween, and never leave your costumed pet unsupervised.

🧠: Did you know that black cats can “rust”? If a black cat spends too much time in the sun, their fur can turn a reddish/dark brown which is only temporary. Once melanin levels return to normal, so will their fur color 🐱

🧠: Did you know that black cats typically have a better immune system than other colored cats? 🐱

🧠: Did you know that in many Asian countries, such as China and Japan, black cats are not only considered good luck but may also attract wealth? 🍀💰

Did you know that our pets dream too? Studies have shown that cats and dogs can enter a phase of sleeping called REM sleep, which is when dreaming takes place.

This is why we sometimes notice them twitching or even making noises while asleep.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen your pets do while dreaming? 😴

Hey, Seneca Hill! Thanks! Andre’s all better, and Tonka’s ears are perfectly clear! We appreciate your patience with our human Momma.
Thank you to Dr. Janice Homan and her amazing staff for the support and love they have Jack (Big Papa) and I. The last 14 years of his care was exceptional and allowed Jack to live a very healthy life. I am forever grateful to everyone at Seneca Hill Animal Hospital. #1animalhospital
Dear Dr. Homan and staff, I can't begin to thank you enough for taking such good care of Mollee . You never gave up on her and together we gave her almost 2 years of love and extra care and made her happy. She always loved getting into the car to go to Seneca and see her friends and get treats and oh yea fluids. She was a trooper and was my best friend as all of you figured out and she just got tired and couldn't keep going with her body betraying her any longer. Words fail me how special August 24th was with all of you surrounding us making Mollee's journey to heaven so peaceful and with chocolate chip cookies to give her energy to cross the rainbow bridge!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! All of you will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️ and before we all know it, Mollee will show me another dog that needs a good home and lots of TLC. I have come to know most of you and consider all of you dear friends and will see you soon . Sincerely Susan Oleson
