This man was my great-great grandfather Rufus Marion Crewse. Of course, I did share some of his lesser known stories in our new book "Wright CountyFamilyStories". If you want to read about him scalping the bushwacker with an ax, you'll have to read that one out of our Tales of Wright County, Volume 1. The stories included for Rufus in this publication are "Caught in the Corncrib", "The Fox Hunt" and a conclusion my 35 years worth of research into the Crewse line, "The Ever-Evolving Religion of the Crewse Clan ".
