I spent an amazing week at this house with all of my family. I brought my Dad out from Maine to Oregon to spend time with all of our Northwest family. Aunts and cousins came from all around. This house was the perfect place for conversations in warm welcoming nooks, great meals filled with laughter, late night conversations on the back porch under the most beautiful trees. The zen feel of this incredible property just added to the joy of being with family, creating a miraculous week we will remember always. The kindness of our hosts cannot be matched. They put up holiday decorations, brought toys up for the kids and were so warm and welcoming. The whole family is already dreaming of next time.

About a mile walk from the house is Noble Woods Park. These are currently blooming in great numbers throughout the park.

Winter gives way to spring. The Primrose was originally planted back in the mid sixties. It has been divided and shared dozens of times. It is by far our favorite spring flower.

Normally we make brownies for our incoming guests. Shortbread cookies are a great substitute when chocolate is not an option. These will be finished with a lemon glaze. Yummmm!
