Every young guest gets a chance to find our little hidden Honu (turtle)… call it a game of hide and seek, as each guest hides Honu for the next guest — a small nod to the honu the house is named for, and a good excuse to occupy the kids while the adults unload their cars and settle in.

Rent a kayak and slip into the mangrove tunnels on the bay side — quieter water, better wildlife, and a completely different side of the island than the beach ever shows you.

August mornings have a hush before the heat sets in — cool tile underfoot, the ceiling fan turning lazily, coffee brewing while the island outside is still mostly asleep. It’s our favorite hour of the day, every single time.
