One of the things I love about traveling through La Aurora Airport in Guatemala City are the glass panels covered in stickers.

Visitors, airlines crews, tour operators, local businesses, and even international brands leave their stickers there as a mark that they’ve “passed through” Guatemala.

It’s become a tradition almost like a passport stamp on the wall.

The panels are an informal canvas of logos, slogans, and artwork. You’ll see everything from band logos and surf shops to NGOs, hostels, and “Jesus te ama” stickers. I even saw a Buc-ees sticker (IYKYK).

I love how, in a way, it represents the diversity of travelers and locals who converge at the airport and have visited my new adopted home.

So, if you ever make it to Guatemala, be sure to look for the stickers before passing through security on your way home.
