You ever been to a company party where it feels like you walked into a room that was planned just to check a box—another item on the corporate to-do list to “show appreciation”?
Let’s be honest… it’s time out for that.

If the goal is employee appreciation, then it should actually feel like appreciation.
Not another meeting.
Not another obligation.
And definitely not another awkward “celebration” where everyone is counting down the minutes until they can go home.

Here’s the truth:
Most employees would rather see that money reflected in their paycheck than attend a holiday party that’s boring, bare, or thrown together with minimal thought.

A real celebration should:
✨ Show effort
✨ Show gratitude
✨ Show intention
✨ And most importantly… show that the company values its people

And let’s talk about the timing.
A holiday party at the end of a long workday—after people have battled traffic just to get to the office early that morning—isn’t fun.
Offering drinks when everyone still has to drive home isn’t thoughtful.
Calling something a party when the energy feels like “just another day at work”… isn’t it.

Corporate leaders, HR teams, decision-makers:
If you’re going to do it, do it well.
If not, skip the party—give people a bonus, give them extra PTO, give them something meaningful.

Because employees deserve more than a checked box.
They deserve to feel seen, appreciated, and celebrated.

Thank you, Descendants of Olivewood, for choosing All About You Event Planning Center to bring your 150th Year Celebration to life. We absolutely loved being a part of this historic milestone. The one-hour setup time definitely pushed us—but guess what… we did it!

Cheers to 150 years of dedication, preservation, and service within our community.
