Good Morning! - Weather and Operations Update on Marina and Events Below:

Weather Challenges: ⛈️ ☔️

Memorial Day Weekend Bash 🎉-assessing day by day right now. Final call will be made this evening or tomorrow morning.

Dock Fueling ⛽️ - Goal was to have temp fueling set up by next Thursday 5-28-26 but due to weather that may be pushed back until we can get concrete pad down.

Food and beer Trucks 🥘 🍺-Goal was to have everything set up this Friday 5-22-26 but due to weather it will likely be pushed back by a week to 10 days.

Marina Store 🛍️-Goal was to have pilings set Tuesday this week with building and finishing out to begin there after. Unfortunately the weather has postponed this as well. We need it dry to get the pilings set, building in and crane in.

This weather is delaying a lot of our operations so please be patient. We will keep you updated and informed. 😁. Rain rain go away!! 😬😬

It’s happening people!! West Revetment Road is now open, providing access the West Sargent Beach and to Mitchell’s Cut!! WooHoo!!!!!

I got the word this afternoon that W Revetment Rd is OPEN to the public! I was asked to let people know that there is a dredging operation going on at the mooring station and I’m to ask the public to keep out of that area. The road is open for access to West Beach and Mitchell’s Cut ONLY. There was an incident over the weekend that someone got in and messed with a piece of equipment. Any more of this and they will close the road. PLEASE enjoy the drive on the new road and take in Mitchell’s Cut one last time before all the changes that start in a month.

I would like to thank Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham for staying vigilant and funding this road project as well as the Breakwater/Beach Replenishment Projects. She has stayed the course and kept her promises to the people of Matagorda County and Sargent. Her office has been nothing but professional and easy to work with. I also want to thank Matagorda County Grant Administrator Crystal Morones. She has handled everything from all the government hoops we have had to jump through to millions of dollars of invoices that need to be processed to get reimbursed. This couldn’t have been done without the cooperation and communication of our great county team and Commissioner Buckingham’s staff at the General Land Office.
