Before interior designer Jane Schwab and her husband Nelson, had even closed on their 1931 Georgian Revival residence outside Charleston, she was already on the phone with architect Jeremy Corkern because she trusted his sense of proportion and restraint.
Jane and Corkern agreed the existing floorboards needn’t be treated as precious; in fact, painting them became one of the home’s defining points. “Painted floors added an element of levity. We loved the way the point bounced the light around, brightening everything.”
