With the season changing you will see fungus starting to show up in the lawn. Most common fungus that shows up in the lawn is brown patch or other types of fungusas well. Brown patch typically starts with accumulated amounts of water in the lawn where low lying areas are. Reduce the amount of water to the lawn, because of the night time soil temperatures being lower. Lawns are starting to recover from the freeze. Soil temperatures will start to warm up more, as the temperatures start to stay steady. Lawn maintenance is very important now. You should remove the old thatch that accumulated with the ice and snow that sat on the lawns for a week. As the lawn slowly starts to come out of the dormant stage, try not to use a lot of w**d control because you will set the lawn back even more. Mowing and bagging will help control the spread of w**ds in the lawn. Also make sure that after every use of the mower you clean underneath, so the seeds are not present for the next mowing. If you currently use a lawn service ask when was the last time the equipment was cleaned underneath. What are you doing to prepare your lawn for the upcoming spring time and the rest of the year? Grow with Green can help you prepare your lawn with a treatment plan. Services include w**d control, fertilization, insecticide, and fungicide. Grow with Green will do what is needed for the lawn at each stage of the year. Service areas include Cypress, Katy, Fulshear, and Cinco Ranch. Please message for a free estimate.
