The easiest walk on the beach we've had a guest describe, in their own words, and it's a short one. We keep a beach wagon on hand so hauling chairs, coolers, and every kid's inflatable doesn't turn into its own project. Load up, cross at the underpass, and you're there in a few minutes without circling for parking or lugging gear across a hot lot.

Pep booked us for three weeks this year, which tells you something on its own. Alys Beach is one of 30A's most photographed communities, and the story behind it is more interesting than the postcard version. Development began in 2004 on land the Stephens family had held since the late 1970s, and the town's all-white buildings were a deliberate choice, drawing on Mediterranean and Caribbean architectural influences from Bermuda, Antigua, and Guatemala. The white reflects the Gulf sunlight and gives the whole community a strikingly uniform look you won't see anywhere else on 30A. It's about ten minutes by bike from Inlet Reset, worth the ride even just to walk around.

Do you actually need a car in Inlet Beach? For most of your trip, no. The house sits a short walk from the beach underpass, and the Timpoochee Trail puts Rosemary and Alys Beach within an easy bike ride for dinner or shopping. We keep bikes and a wagon on hand for exactly that reason. You'll still want a car for a grocery run or a day trip further down 30A, but plenty of guests park it for days at a time once they're settled in.

That's why it still feels different from a typical beach development: a genuine town square, a fountain plaza, streets built for walking before cars. It's a five-minute bike ride from Inlet Reset, and worth an evening even if you never set foot on Rosemary's beach.
