Big improvements are underway at Camp Declan! We’re putting the finishing touches on a project that restores areas shaped by years of natural erosion while creating smooth, level walking around the Cabin and Cabana. The result is an even more beautiful, comfortable, and enjoyable Camp Declan experience.

Oddly enough… Memorial Day Weekend at Camp Declan is still open.

That almost never happens.

If you’ve stayed here before, you already know what that means - quiet fresh air mornings, nothing but trees and birds, no crowds, no noise… just your own space to breathe.

No packed campgrounds.
No neighbors 10 feet away.
No chaos.

Just the kind of weekend people usually book months in advance… and somehow, this one slipped through.

If you’ve been thinking about coming back, this is your window.

And if you’re seeing this, it’s not by accident—I’d much rather it go to someone who already gets what Camp Declan is.

Happening now at Camp Declan: an Atlanta-based nonprofit, Julie’s Dream, spending the week lakeside.

Their mission is simple and powerful - giving under-resourced youth hope through outdoor adventure and the wonder of God’s creation.

Tents, fresh air, a quiet shoreline… and a group fully leaning into it - rain, 70°, simplicity, and a few off-site excursions.

There’s something special about watching people reconnect out here. No noise. No pollution. No distractions. Just nature doing what it does best.

Spring is waking up at Camp Declan. 🌿

The oaks are stretching out again, and guests are bringing their favorite toys out of hibernation — vintage Broncos, motorcycles, boats, and anything else that enjoys fresh air and open space.

Some groups relax and let local caterers handle the cooking, turning the weekend into an easy outdoor gathering with great food and good company.

That’s the charm of Camp Declan: plenty of shaded space, a laid-back lakeside setting, and room to enjoy the simple things.

March marked a special milestone at Camp Declan — the strongest month in our 10-year history.

That kind of moment doesn’t happen overnight. It reflects years of steady improvements, the natural beauty that surrounds us, and — most importantly — the wonderful guests who continue to return and share this quiet and private corner of the lake.

We’re grateful for each of you who has been part of the journey. Camp Declan is what it is because of the people who choose to spend their time here.
