let’s talk about attending weddings…
do you absolutely love it or is it overrated?

over here, we LOVE weddings and that includes attending them as guests! there so something magical about the love and happiness all in the room. it’s pure bliss. we love watching our friends and family starting their life adventure together. Ugh the absolute best.

and let’s be honest, there is nothing like a love party. and our friends absolutely know how to get down when celebrating. que all the best party songs, like our fav “September”

the easel, one of the work horses of weddings.

almost everyone needs one (or two, or many) but it’s probably a last minute thought of “how am I going to display my welcome sign” - or maybe that was just our experience.

from welcoming your guests to telling them where they should sit, an easel comes in handy.

🍩 donut mind if “i do” 🍩

so let’s talk about one of my biggest (maybe my only) regret from my wedding….

food, we ordered too much of it… it pains me to think of the food we threw away and money we wasted ordering too much food. we were getting ready to jet to mexico for a week so saving anything was nearly impossible. my philosophy is always rather have too much than not enough and i apparently took that to heart when placing our catering order. we entertain a lot and it goes without saying the panic that sets in when you realize you can’t feed everyone, yikes. luckily i can say that wasn’t a problem for our wedding but i would highly advise any bride to try to calculate how much food they will need rather than guess. it will also save you one less thing to worry about after your wedding!

*pleased to say that no donuts were wasted for our wedding, they were graciously delivered to the police department post wedding*

Where are our upcoming Fall Weddings at!?

DeVante & I had planned to get married in fall our whole relationship. The colors and Iowa weather in the fall was our motivation. Butttt, when you get engaged in June, the upcoming fall is much too soon and fall of the next year is entirely too long to wait to marry your best friend.

We also had some sentimental reasons to get married in June…
1) We got engaged on June 12th, so why not get married on the same day (which just happened to fall on a Saturday)
2) We got engaged on June 12th (& then got married too) because it is Loving Day. If you don’t know about Loving Day we encourage you to look it up. But to summarize, it’s the day the Supreme Court struck down state bans of in*******al marriage.
3) June 12th is my (Ashley’s) late grandfather’s birthday. He would of been so proud and would of loved to be there. We know he was there in our hearts and we were honored to share our day with him.

So we didn’t get married in fall, we had an outside Iowa summer wedding when the heat index was near 100 degrees. But I promise you, we wouldn’t of had it any other way.

Ashley’s passion lies in love, weddings, and events. What better way to spring into the industry then offering rentals to couples and event goers?
