We get quite a few comments about the wildlife you can see here. It's really an amazing place to relax and enjoy nature!

We've got some new Tiny Tenants! 🐢

​This mama snapping turtle just finished laying her eggs on the property.

​For the most part, we're going to let nature run its course. Hopefully, the raccoons won't find the nest. To keep her nursery a little safer since its near a walkway, we may set up some boundary posts to alert our guests. Mama has already headed back to the river and won't be returning, so guests don't need to look out for her. However, in a few months, her babies will hatch and head straight for the water just a few yards away!

​If you're staying with us when they hatch, please give them a clear path to the river. And a quick heads up: even tiny snappers can bite, so it’s best to cheer them on from a safe distance. We love getting to share this slice of nature with our guests! 🌲🌊

☀️ The pier is officially IN for the summer! ☀️

​The water is calling, and our private pier is officially installed and ready for all your river adventures! Guests are already out there soaking up the sun and exploring the water by pedal boat, canoe, and kayak.

​🚣‍♂️ Ready to hit the water? We've got you covered!

We love for our guests to have the full river experience, so we have watercraft available to use on a first-come, first-served basis.

When you book your stay, simply drop us a quick message letting us know you want to use the watercraft, and we’ll make sure everything is ready and waiting for your arrival!

​Don't forget to grab your sunscreen, and pack your shades!

We’ve had quite a bit of rain in the area recently, and with that has come some higher water levels and local flooding. The nearby boat launch is currently underwater, so launching access is limited for the time being and there are slow-no-wake orders in effect.

The good news is the A-Frame property remains unaffected by the high water. Guests can still relax and take in the beautiful river views, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and experience all the nature our space has to offer. And we're close to local hiking and bike trails if you're looking for an alternative means to enjoying the outdoors.

But cross your fingers that the rain slows down so that we can get out on the river soon!

Happy Easter! 🐣 Check out this bird's-eye view of the Rock River right in front of the A-Frame. The weather might be a bit gray this weekend, but it won’t be long before these waters are perfect for kayaking, cruising, and tubing! 🚤 Who else is ready for river season?

Our guests this weekend will have a nice warm spring day as the forecast shows 72 & sunny 🌞 That means we could bring the patio cushions out of storage so they can get some use!
