Who says that staying in an off-grid cabin in the woods means that you’re sleeping on the floor and eating dinner from a can? Not me.

Hosting my cabin is teaching me that there is no limit to the things I can worry about.

Last night, I dreamed that all of the outdoor lights had somehow been switched to flashing strobe mode. I woke up in a panic, certain that our guests were about to be treated to a brook-side rave instead of a peaceful Vermont retreat.

We're booked through the week and weekend, so I can't just pop up and ease my worried mind. Instead, I'll spend the next few days trusting that the cabin remains exactly as intended: quiet, cozy, and free of any surprise dance parties.

I ran out of white paint, so the interior only got a second coat on two walls. Looks like I'm buying more paint today so I can finish the job.
The door, the rest of the siding, and the steps are loaded in my car and ready to head up to camp. The boys are meeting me around 4 pm after we all get out of work to see how much more we can get done.
Of course, that's also about when the rain is supposed to start.
Oy. Progress is progress.

I made a little more progress today. They took measurements for the door this evening and I think that they will finish siding it when it's time to hang the door. I'll get a second coat of white on the interior tomorrow afternoon.
