There is a bar in downtown Austin with no sign out front, and finding the door is half the fun of the date. 🥃
Speakeasy sits behind an unmarked entrance at 412D Congress Avenue, and once you find the door and head up the narrow staircase, it opens into a warren of dim, candlelit rooms with exposed brick, leather booths, and a bar stocked like Prohibition never ended. The real payoff is the rooftop patio, where the view opens up over downtown Austin with the Frost Bank Tower rising in the skyline. It is intimate enough for a first date and atmospheric enough to make a long term relationship feel new again.
It is right in the middle of downtown, easy to pair with dinner somewhere nearby before or after. Have you found the door at Speakeasy yet, or is this still on your date night list?
