National Giving Tuesday is November 28th!! (following Black Friday and Cyber Monday)

As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, our e3 Leadership Group team is reflecting upon the blessings of 2017. We have much to be grateful for!

One story comes to mind: A few of our Nepal mission team members visited a Nepali village. They made custom eye glasses for the people. One lady who received glasses said, "I can see my fingers and fingernails!" She was certainly excited and the main reason she was so excited is because she separates rotten kernels of corn from the good kernels for their food and meals. Before she received the gift of glasses she was not able to see the good kernels from the bad. Now, she can!

It is because of the generosity of many of you that we are able to share and demonstrate the Life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through various ways, including making glasses.

Next week is National Giving Tuesday, November 28th. Please prayerfully consider making a $10.00 donation, the cost of a cup of coffee and a snack.

If everyone participates, this will help our non-profit, e3 Leadership Group continue to advance the Gospel to the neglected and least reached people groups in Asia.

92% of missionaries go where the Gospel has already been established. 8% of missionaries go to the unreached/unengaged people groups! Even though we believe in equal worth of all people there is not equal opportunity to hear the Gospel. This is a travesty!

Start where you are: Pray; Involve; Love; Share and Live the Gospel in 2017!

Holly's Story
This is Holly (with my wife) from Taiwan! Holly grew up in a family devoted to ancestor worship. As an English major in college she joined our cross cultural project called, American Life Camp (ALC).

At the camp, we celebrate various American-style holidays: Halloween; Christmas; Easter; Fourth of July. These holidays give us opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Normally the Taiwanese college students come to ALC one time. Holly came four times! During one of these camps, Holly put her trust in Jesus Christ! She is now a child of God and a follower of Christ.

During the camps she made a number of friends from KC. So, Holly is visiting the U.S. for the first time and is staying with friends here. We had the privilege of having Holly stay with us for a few days. This is her first experience with cold temperatures and snow.

This is why Jesus came on what we all Christmas Day - to seek and save that which is lost! Holly is now found.

We have plans to go to Taiwan (Taipei and Taichung) again July 2017. This is open for anyone eighteen and older.

If you are interested in going with me for this mission trip then go to www.e3leadershipgroup.net/Asia Cross Culture Projects/ Taiwan and or email me @ [email protected]

Your year-end gift today will help me help unbelievers in Asia like Holly embrace the Good News of Jesus and become ambassadors for Christ in their own country!

Myanmar Comes to KC!!
This past summer Micah and I led a mission team to Myanmar (Burma). Thang led us to a Bhuddist village where no foreigners had visited before and we had the privilege of sharing the Gospel. The response was terrific! Many indicated that they wanted to know Jesus Christ. God is on the move and raising up the next generation!!

Well, this past November, Thang came to KC to visit some of his Burmese relatives. They are refugees from Burma along with over three-thousand more Burmese that live in KC! Micah Gelatt and I had a short time meeting with our dear friend while he was here.

We made plans to build a mission team to go back to Burma January 2018!

Micah and his family moved to North KC a couple of years ago to specifically serve the Burmese and other refugee people living in KC.

If you are interested in going with me for this mission trip or if you would like to assist in serving the Burmese in KC with the Gelatts, then email me @ [email protected]

Your year-end gift today will help me help believers in Asia like Thang reach the neglected people groups in Asia with the Good News of Jesus!

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! Psalm 107:1
Even though we are living in troubled times, we have much to be thankful for.

I thank the Lord

I thank the Lord for His Sovereign rule

I thank the Lord for His Faithful Love which endures forever

I thank the Lord for His provision of our daily needs and for His gift of eternal life through
Jesus Christ

I thank the Lord for my family

I thank the Lord for you

In 1864, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed the last Thursday of November as Thanksgiving Day.

Abraham Lincoln's
Proclamation 118—Thanksgiving Day, 1864
October 20, 1864

"It has pleased Almighty God to prolong our national life another year, defending us with His guardian care against unfriendly designs from abroad and vouchsafing to us in His mercy many and signal victories over the enemy, who is of our own household...
Now, therefore, I, Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States, do hereby appoint and set apart the last Thursday in November next as a day which I desire to be observed by all my fellow-citizens, wherever they may then be, as a day of thanksgiving and praise to Almighty God, the beneficent Creator and Ruler of the Universe. And I do further recommend to my fellow-citizens aforesaid that on that occasion they do reverently humble themselves in the dust and from thence offer up penitent and fervent prayers and supplications to the Great Disposer of Events for a return of the inestimable blessings of peace, union, and harmony throughout the land which it has pleased Him to assign as a dwelling place for ourselves and for our posterity throughout all generations."

We must be careful not to forget the Lord our God — Honor Him as God and give Him thanks!!

Pray for His reign and rule to cover this earth as the waters cover the sea and pray that His Will be done in each one of our hearts and lives,
Matthew 6:9-10.

love, doug

Two recent events in town: Weekly Chinese Bible Study: LiMing (on the right) is now a follower of Christ and our friend is learning about Jesus for the very first time.

The other two pictures is at LSCC - Table Talk Apologetics: I am engaging High school students on why they believe what they believe and how to stand firm in the Faith and to rationally defend the Faith with grace and truth.

I leave for Asia in the less than a week to meet with various groups of people for church retreats and leadership retreats on a variety of topics. My goal is to help strengthen the Asian disciples so they can reach their culture with the Truth! Please join me in prayer. I am on my way home. Here are four final pictures from our mission expedition: Esther and family (Esther was released last February); my good friends Chris M and Ken F; the suspension bridge in Hong Kong where we had our team debriefing and look at the bottom right of the airplane chart - I wished I could have flown home on that. This was a Spirit-led trip every step of the way. I am writing up a report which I will send out in the next couple of days. Thank you for joining our team through your prayers!
