What's all the Buzz in town?

The Smokies are buzzing—literally.

After 17 years underground, Brood XIV cicadas are emerging by the thousands across the Great Smoky Mountains, especially in spots like Cades Cove. If you're out exploring and hear something that sounds like a sci-fi soundtrack… now you know.

You don’t even need to be hiking—we heard them from the truck today, windows up and all.

They don’t bite or sting, but they’re loud (like 100 decibels loud).

It’s one of the strangest, most fascinating natural events in the Smokies—and it won’t happen again until 2042.

This is something I highly recommend! So much fun, bring your bathing suits. It's not far from the cabin, up the road from CVS on the parkway.

Always in search of things to do and places to eat had Charlene and I stumble across "SEASONS 101" in downtown Sevierville near the Dolly Parton statue. WOW, was this place good. They have limited hours, 4-10 weekdays and 11- 10 weekend. Weekend Brunch is fabulous! The dinners are exceptional! If you want something other than the fried and PUB food (which I have favorites of too) or don't want the "chain" restaurants then I recommend SEASONS 101. Excellent place for a special date or occasion. $$ rated and probably correct, but well worth the visit. Their menu is season inspired and fresh. We've been there a few times and doesn't disappoint. Try it for a more upscale dinner, but make reservations for sure. Hope you like it, and if so (or not) enter it in our Guest Book at the cabin for others to learn.
