🇺🇸 Have you ever heard the story behind “The Star-Spangled Banner?”
In honor of Flag Day, the incredible Voices of Liberty at EPCOT shared the history of how our National Anthem came to be before performing a beautiful rendition beneath the rotunda of The American Adventure.
The story begins during the War of 1812, when Francis Scott Key witnessed the bombardment of Fort McHenry through the night. As dawn broke, he saw the American flag still flying over the fort, inspiring the words that would eventually become “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
One of my favorite things about the Voices of Liberty is how they bring history to life through storytelling and music. Their harmonies are always breathtaking, but performances like this remind me why The American Adventure remains one of EPCOT’s most meaningful experiences.
