I made my first appearance as Mrs. American Renaissance on October 12 at the Atlanta Merrell Down & Dirty Obstacle Race. At this race, I volunteered at the Operation Gratitude tent and was responsible for recruiting people to write letters to our deployed troops and veterans, selling merchandise, and manning the rock climbing wall.

As a military spouse (my husband serves as a pilot with the South Carolina National Guard, supporting soldiers and veterans is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart. Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that annually sends 150,000+ care packages filled with snacks, entertainment, hygiene and hand-made items, plus personal letters of appreciation to deployed troops, veterans, wounded warriors and caregivers.

It was truly an honor to donate my time to this wonderful organization.

Hey guys! Join me this weekend at the Atlanta Merrel Down & Dirty Obstacle Race on Sunday, October 12 at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, GA! I will be volunteering at the Operation Gratitude Booth! This wonderful organization provides over 150,000 care packages annually to our service members, veterans and caregivers. Sending Care Packages to U.S. Military

The Marietta Mutt Strutt is an event to raise awareness of the programs and services that Sweetwater Mission provides to those in need. We are committed to battle the effects of poverty head on to stabilize families and help move them into a more abundant life. Many of our families have pets that provide protection and companionship and therefore our dogs are on a mission!

The fun takes place on Saturday, September 6, 10:00 - 2:00, on the grounds of Marietta First United Methodist Church. The event includes a costumed dog contest and a dog parade, as well as several fun activities.

MBA is proud to support Sweetwater Mission for this event and more details about how to be involved will be posted as the event date is closer.

Hello and Welcome! I was recently given the huge honor of being crowned Mrs. American Renaissance 2014. During this upcoming year, I will be using my title to encourage others to become more involved in helping our great nation's soldiers and veterans.
