Hey Friends! Two quick things.

First, Facebook is being awful about notifying me I have messages and I am missing things. so if I didn't respond to you please send me another message and hopefully we can connect.

Second, due to space constraints we are not able to have a pop-up this year but I have most of this Saturday open. Send a message, we are doing appointments on the hour, we would love to have you come by. BUT, please don't just drop by, as I mentioned we've got some space issues. send us a message to get that scheduled and we will see you saturday!

💃Did you know this about prom dresses? 👗

💜The average family spends around $300–$450 just on the dress for prom. And when you add tickets, dinner, photos, and everything else, total prom costs can climb close to $800–$900 for one night.

💙Only a small percentage of girls ever wear their prom dress again. Some informal surveys suggest it’s in the 10–15% range. That means the vast majority of dresses are worn once… and then sit in a closet for years.

💜At the same time, about 1 in 3 students now shop secondhand for prom.

💙So while hundreds of dresses are tucked away in closets across Lawton, there are also kids every year looking for just that dress.

💜Formal dresses are beautiful. They’re expensive. And they deserve more than one magical night.

💙If you have a dress hanging in your closet, consider giving it another story.

💜If you need a dress, know that you are not alone — and you deserve to feel amazing at prom, or any event, in the perfect dress.

💙How do we see the dresses?💜

💜We have been getting this question all week, so I thought it was a great question of the week

💙 Just send us a message and we will make an appointment. Because we work out of our house we don't exactly have regular hours yet. But I'm always happy to try and find a time that works for both of us.

💜Once we have moved to our new location we are hoping to have appointments still available as an option, but also have some regular hours that were open on the weekends.

💙 Until then though, we know promise coming up and our new home isn't quite ready. So send us a message and we are happy to work in appointments for you to come on by

Hey! We are getting so close to Prom.

As you are working on this years dress, look back to last year's dress and make sure to set it aside to bring our way! We are always in need of new donations, and we are happy to come pick them up!

💃Question of the Week👗
💜This week we have ✌️two questions💙

💙1) Why does there need to be someone over 18 at every appointment?💜
💜2) Why do I need ID to rent a dress?💙

💙We need an adult, with an ID for the rental. Just like if you were to set up any other rental such as a car rental, or a carpet scrubber, or a hotel room, or even to get a library card to borrow a book.

💜We need to verify whomever is taking our dress away with them, is the same name and info we have on the contact form.

💙This protects all of our wonderful donations and ensures we have them around to be utilized again and again.

💃Question of the Week👗
💜What should I bring to my appointment?

💙There are several things you should bring to make the experience go seamlessly. The first one is bring a friend that ooo, and ahhh, when you come out in your gown.

💜Next, it helps to have the same, or similar, types of shoes as you would wear to the event to see how the hem length works for you.

💙From there, bring the $20 deposit (or we have several cashless options), and a Photo ID for the paperwork.

💜It's not a long list! It's that simple to come and enjoy looking through our gowns!

🎆It's time for that big announcement we promised. Most of the guesses in the comments were correct, we have a dedicated location and will be moving!

💜First Christian Church is downtown Lawton has a space for us, and we are honored, and relieved, to be able to grow so much as we partner with them.

💙We will have more information soon, as well as ways you can help. But until then, spread the word! This is gonna be huge!

💜 What can we do to help and support this community project?

💙There are several ways our community members can help the Lending Closet. First check back tomorrow for our big announcement about some amazing and wonderful changes to the lending closet.

💜But there are also some small and simple things that help us out so much. You see a lot of small organizations post about liking/ commenting/ sharing/ and leaving reviews on their social media pages, but they actually help out so much.

💙Also, donating dresses and hangers. Those items are always in need around here. We love when people message us to say they have one for us, and we're always happy to let you schedule a tour while you're here to see what you are a part of.
