The newest travel trend isn’t new at all.

According to this year’s summer travel report, more families are choosing destinations closer to home.

Looking through these old Michigan postcards tonight, it made me realize something…

Michigan families have been doing that for generations.

Before social media.
Before travel apps.
Before destination resorts.

People packed up the family, headed Up North, and spent time fishing, swimming, exploring, and sitting around campfires together.

The scenery may have changed.

The vehicles may have changed.

But the reason we travel really hasn’t.

We still come for the memories.
