McIntee Manor on East Main

McIntee Manor on East Main Airbnb rental located in Lima, NY We look forward to hosting you at our historical home located in our quaint hometown of Lima, NY.

We love to travel(Costa Rico was a favorite), eat good food, and spend time with our family and friends. We worked hard on creating this space for others to love as much as we do. Fun fact about this home: Back in 1930 it was the Elms Tourist House where rooms were rented and meals were enjoyed.

Major cuteness! 🐾❤️ My cohost’s dog Nash found the perfect spot to take a rest, and honestly, can you blame him? The flowers are blooming, the sign is pretty, and it looks like he’s pretty happy 🥰🌸

Flowers are cut, wine is waiting, and the quote board is ready. One of my favorite things about hosting is when guests share what brings them to McIntee Manor. I get to turn a little piece of their story into something waiting for them when they walk through the door. The quote board might be a little corny, but I think that’s what makes it fun. It’s a little something just for them, and I love that. It’s such a small thing, but these are the details I love most about hosting. 🍷 ❤️🌺

🌸 A little fun fact about me!
I absolutely LOVE my flowers. I love growing them, cutting them, arranging them and filling McIntee Manor with them. 💐
BUT, there’s one tiny problem.
I have a HUGE fear of spiders. 😳🕷️
And if you’ve ever grown flowers, you know those beautiful blooms sometimes come with a few unexpected little passengers.
So my solution? Every time I bring in a bucket of flowers, I dump the whole thing into the sink and let them sit there while I wait for the creepy crawly residents to make their way out. 😂
Then, once I’m confident the coast is clear, I start arranging.
So yes, every bouquet is a little bit of beauty, courage and a whole lot of spider avoidance. 😂🌸

A little piece of the magic ✨
One of my guests captured McIntee Manor last night, and I think she captured exactly what I love most about this place. The house glowing, the fire crackling, the chairs waiting, just one of those summer evenings where you don’t really need to be anywhere else.
Thank you to my guests for sharing a little piece of their McIntee Manor stay with me, honestly makes me so happy seeing you outside enjoying that fire pit 🔥 🏠 😍

Some guests come for a stay, and some come back and claim their spot! Our sweet guest is back at McIntee Manor for her second stay, and apparently the cozy window room is officially hers. 😂📖
She sent me this picture yesterday and said, “I took over the spot the last time we were here. Told my husband, I was never leaving. Haha!”
I guess when you find your favorite little corner at McIntee Manor, you come back to it. 🥰🏡❤️
( I did ask her permission to share, and she said I absolutely could!)

“A Man Worth Remembering”
Before we bought this home that is now McIntee Manor, it was owned by Harold Hennessy, a man who was truly one of a kind. Born in Rochester in 1907, Harold attended the University of Rochester, served in World War II, and moved to Lima in 1951. Not long after arriving, he was elected Justice of the Peace, a position he held for an incredible 32 years. Those who knew Judge Hennessy remember him for his legendary common sense, wisdom, and his famously creative “sentences,” uniquely designed around the person, the crime, and the circumstances. He touched many lives in Lima for the better and was truly one of a kind.
Harold had many interests, antiques, art, gardening, travel, history, civic affairs, and public service. He also ran a small mail order toy business right here from this historic home.
Fun Fact! We actually found a few of the things he sold! One was a rattle made with tiny marbles inside, and another was a wheel with 4 different sized cups, and no, it wasn't a baby toy… it was a shot wheel! 🍻 Harold lived to be 100 years old, passing away in 2007.
I love knowing that McIntee Manor isn't just an old house, it has stories, characters, and a history that began long before we ever opened the doors to guests. And every little discovery gives us another glimpse into the life that once filled these rooms ❤️

One of my favorite things about hosting is finding those little touches that make guests feel welcomed and of course, everyone loves a good snack basket! 😉
So tell me, if you were staying at McIntee Manor, what snack would you LOVE to find waiting for you?
Sweet, salty, crunchy, chocolatey, I want to hear it all! 👇🍪🍿🥨

🍂 There’s something so special about fall at McIntee Manor. 🍁
The beautiful colors, crisp mornings, cozy evenings and that feeling of slowing down and enjoying the simple things.
I’d love to share a little piece of that with you this fall. Come stay, explore the Finger Lakes, take a scenic drive, visit a winery, enjoy the lakes, and then come back to a cozy place that feels a little like home. ❤️
McIntee Manor is waiting for you this fall. 🏡🍁

Sometimes I forget just how much history these walls have seen. Long before it became McIntee Manor on East Main, this beautiful home was known as The Elms Tourist Home. In the 1930's and 1940's, it served as both a roadside restaurant and a place for travelers to stay, named for the magnificent elm tree's that once shaded the property. I love knowing that decades later this home is still welcoming guests from near and far. Some things may have changed, but its purpose of making people feel at home has remained the same!❤️
