5 years since this happened in Manhattan Beach when we were called “Black Sand Surd”, and this month marks 4 years of Ebony Beach Club. It’s crazy to think that this beautiful movement was catalyzed by an instance of hatred.
2026 is about to be an amazing year for the community and we have SOOOOOO much planned for y’all this summer - surf, swim, volleyball, and of course a couple parties. Stay tuned, and thank you ALL for the support over the years!

Thankful to & for calling on Ebony Beach Club to launch the NEXT WAVE swim program for the youth of Virginia Beach . Getting to share the gift with these amazing kids meant the world. The opportunity to teach these kids and show them that if you see it, you can be it is a blessing. Grateful for the serendipity of this moment, for the trust these kids placed in us, and for the love and teamwork that carried us across the country to share surfing and swimming with them. We hope they carry this moment with them for life, and if it ignites something inside even one of their souls, our job is done.

A double shoutout to Pharrell, such a huge inspiration to the DNA of Ebony Beach Club, so this one was super special for us.

What an honor to be able to be called upon by to teach the youth of his hometown of Virginia Beach how to surf.
A day that we hope they never forget, because the representation is soooo important in the work that we do, especially for the kids! Thank you to the team at for hosting us all at this beautiful brand new surf lagoon here in VIRGINIA. This moment felt like history in the making, and I hope that we can have the privilege to come back again and again.

Pharrell has done so much for the intersection of culture & skateboarding, so it was so aligned and also unreal for us to be able to be a part of his intersection of culture & surfing. Seriously grateful to P & to our whole team of instructors, friends, and creatives who made this possible!
