Undertone Fragrances

Undertone Fragrances Scented candles and room sprays from a luxury perfume house. These impressions shouldn’t be left to chance. Point being: you define the fragrance yourself.

I’ve always been enamored by the beauty of a location’s fragrance -- an old apartment in Paris, an opulent hotel, or the warm comfort of home. And like an undertone in a novel or film, it should be subtle, but definitely there. I started Undertone Fragrances because I believe everyone should complete their home with a fragrance that creates an immediate and lasting connection to the memories made

there. Not cinnamon, or sandalwood, or vanilla – instead, a unique fragrance that’s forever yours. I started in 2015 with five candles: an experiment I called Scenthouse LA. I was pleasantly surprised with the reaction I received. None of the candles smelled like “a candle” — many said they felt like an unstated mood — an undertone, if you will. This inspired a pair of room sprays, which I feel are the true realization of my original vision: instant and invisible scent branding of an environment. I only release a fragrance when I think it’s something special, and when I have something to add to the conversation. And I prefer not to title fragrances with any phrases, places, or words that sway your mind. Instead, I choose a number or letter which provide the least amount of influence possible (other than having no name at all, which isn’t really practical). Besides, a lot of times, the descriptions and “notes” for perfumes are just made up for marketing purposes. I’ve decided to relaunch the most popular original candle, Undertone 24, as a limited edition for 2020. I hope you enjoy and create memories in your space that will always be linked to Undertone.
