Penn-Del AER is pleased to announce that applications for the 2027 Penn-Del AER Student Scholarship are now being accepted for this $1000 scholarship. Help to spread the word.

Students who are pursuing certification related to the field of visual impairment and are a member of the Penn-Del AER Chapter are eligible for this scholarship.

Applications must be submitted by February 2, 2027.

The 2027 Penn-Del AER Awards Committee is currently accepting nominations for both the Penn-Del AER Richard L. Welsh Service Award (WELSH) and the Elinor Long Educator of the Year Award (ELEY). The Awards highlight the achievements and dedication of its members and others dedicated to the field of visual impairment.

Nominations for the 2027 ELEY Award target other service providers such as: administrators, university faculty, and medical personnel.

Consider nominating an outstanding colleague today! Open the following links for additional information on how to nominate a deserving colleague.

Nominations are due by February 2, 2027.

Consider sharing your expertise, effective practices, innovative programs, employment strategies, and research results with your colleagues. The 2027 conference theme is Shaping Our Shared Future: Voices, Advocacy, and Action.

Penn-Del AER is seeking original artwork from students with visual impairments, from K–12 through college and post-secondary programs, throughout our region to represent our 2027 Penn-Del AER Conference!
All artwork must be submitted in PNG, JPG, or JPEG format by 11:59 p.m. on September 18, 2026.

Penn-Del AER members represented at the International AER conference in Louisville, KY. Outgoing AER International President and Penn-Del AER member Rebecca Renshaw is wrapping up an outstanding term. Jamie Maffit won the Sandy Kronick Distinguished Service Award. Penn-Del AER member and Past-President, Maria Lepore-Stevens, won the Richard L. Welsh Leadership Award. Mary Nelle McLennan won the C. Warren Bledsoe Award. In addition, the Penn-Del AER chapter won the Outstanding Chapter Award. Congratulations to all for your work and dedication to the fields of visual impairment and blindness. We look forward to seeing you all at AER international in Pittsburgh, PA in 2028!
