It is more like a raffle. Dinner is now included with your ticket purchase!! First come, first served. Don’t miss out!! This is an all ages event so you can bring your kids or your grandparents if you'd like but keep in mind that we are not a daycare. Anyone under 12 years old must be with an adult!! $1 per pancake. All kinds of flavors that you've probably never had before!!! The theme this year is "Wizard Of OZ”. Feel free to come in costume as your favorite Wizard of OZ character or just dress up in your typical formal prom wear. Mark your calendars and INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!! A little history...
Charity Prom is a charity event brought to you by Shimmy D Entertainment. It started in 2004 and was held at the Ludington Elks Lodge, with the money raised going to the Salvation Army. It was held again in 2005. There was not a Charity Prom in 2006 or 2007. It was brought back by popular demand in 2008 with the theme of "A Night In Paris". Starting in 2009 the event has been co-sponsored by the Ludington Area Jaycees and the theme was "Starry Night". In 2010, Charity Prom was very successful with the theme of "Candy Land" and the money going to help a local family in need. In 2011, we were twice as successful with double the turnout and our move to the Center For The Arts and the theme of "Poker Night". In 2012, we moved the event to the Danish Hall with the theme of "1970's Flashback!!" In 2013, the theme was "Return to Candy Land!!" with the money raised going to the Community Cats program. As always, we will be crowning a King and Queen. And as a way to make more money for the charity, you can vote as many times as you want and each vote is $1. You can vote for yourself or your friends. We will be voting for couples, not individuals. The winners will not be determined by the most votes. The winner will be chosen at random. The more votes you have, the higher your chances are. It's more like a raffle, not a popularity contest. The Ludington Area Jaycees will be hosting a Post Prom event at the Jaycee Mini Golf (by the skate park). It will start at Midnight and will cost just $3 per person if they attended the Charity Prom. People that did not attend are still welcome but will be charged $5. In the coming weeks, we will be unveiling more details. In the meantime, you can check out our page.
