A well-stocked kitchen is the command center for a great mountain getaway.

It's where you'll plan the day's adventure over coffee, surrounded by rustic charm but with all the modern appliances you need. Comfort and function, all in one.

From here, you can pack a lunch and head into Rocky Mountain National Park. A practical tip: the park requires a timed entry reservation to get in between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily. Be sure to plan ahead and book your slot here: https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10086745

Or, explore local events this June! Estes Park hosts its annual Wool Market & Fiber Festival, and nearby Nederland sometimes has its farmer's market on Sundays. After a full day, it's great to come back to your own space to relax.

Lonely Planet ranked Colorado the #2 US summer spot, but not for the reasons you think.

It's about a shift toward intentional travel - less about packed attractions and more about connecting with a place. Think quiet trails, local culture, and genuine restoration.

You can find that experience right here. We're just 10 minutes from the Wild Basin entrance to RMNP, offering access to quieter trails like the one to Lulu City ghost town. Or, enjoy the scenic Peak to Peak Highway. For local flavor, check out Nederland's summer concerts or the charming Allenspark 4th of July Parade.

Choosing a mountain cabin isn't just about finding a place to sleep, is it? It's about finding the right home base for the trip you actually want to have.

A cookie-cutter room just doesn't work when you're planning a real getaway. Our four historic cabins are all different. Each one has its own personality, better suited for a specific kind of trip. Are you looking for a quiet, romantic escape? Or a practical launchpad for a family hiking adventure in Rocky Mountain National Park?

All our cabins have the essentials you need - kitchenettes, reliable WiFi - but the layout, feel, and location on the property all change the experience. It's about matching the cabin's character to your trip's goals.

From here, you have easy access to explore. Head into Estes Park for the weekly farmers market or the upcoming Rooftop Rodeo in July. Or, for something more low-key, Nederland has its Summer Concert Series. And of course, there's the park. A quick tip: remember to check the RMNP timed-entry reservation system before you go (required for peak hours, late May to mid-October). It's a simple step that makes the whole day smoother. 🏔️

Ever wonder why the views around Allenspark and Boulder County are so ridiculously well-preserved? It’s not an accident. There’s a fascinating, practical reason that goes back decades.

Way back in 1967, Boulder became the first city in the country where residents voted to tax themselves specifically to buy and preserve open space. Think about that for a second. Instead of waiting for someone else to step in, the community decided to invest its own money to protect the natural landscapes from urban sprawl.

That single decision is the reason you can enjoy such incredible and uninterrupted access to nature today. The vast network of trails we all use, the protected wildlife habitats, and those scenic vistas are the direct result of a commitment made years ago. This wasn't just a one-time thing, either; the dedication continues to this day.

When you're exploring the areas around us - whether you're heading toward Nederland or deep into the Rockies - you're experiencing the legacy of that choice. It’s a genuine, long-held dedication to the environment that created this incredible backyard we have. 🌲

That quiet moment on the patio you've been looking forward to? It’s closer than you think.

May is the sweet spot in the mountains. It's a special kind of quiet - the perfect time to actually relax and explore before the summer crowds arrive.

From a practical standpoint, it’s an ideal time to visit. Lower elevation trails in Rocky Mountain National Park, like Deer Mountain and Upper Beaver Meadow Loop, are clear and waiting. It's also prime wildlife season. Keep an eye out for elk calves in the meadows and bighorn sheep near Sheep Lakes.

Our historic, pet-friendly cabins are your comfortable basecamp, with essentials like a kitchenette and reliable WiFi. 🌲

Today was the first day of the season for the Raymond Store Café, and we’re feeling so grateful. ☕️

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for espresso, baked goods, a cold drink, a snack, or just a little rest by the river. It was so sweet to see neighbors, cyclists, guests, and friends gathering here again.

Good coffee, homemade treats, mountain air, and a shady spot by the river. Hard to beat.

We’ll be open again tomorrow from 8 AM to 12 PM, and every weekend through Labor Day, maybe longer, weather permitting.

Come say hi, grab a coffee, and stay a little while.

Remember when family time didn't have a screen in the middle of it?

It’s a real challenge. Those tools meant to connect us can leave us feeling miles apart. A real-life disconnect needs a change of scenery.

Our historic cabins near Rocky Mountain National Park are your basecamp. The question isn't what to watch, but which trail to hike - Sprague Lake or Alberta Falls? Evenings are for reconnecting over board games, puzzles, and rock painting, all stocked in your cabin.
