That quiet moment on the patio you've been looking forward to? It’s closer than you think.

May is the sweet spot in the mountains. It's a special kind of quiet - the perfect time to actually relax and explore before the summer crowds arrive.

From a practical standpoint, it’s an ideal time to visit. Lower elevation trails in Rocky Mountain National Park, like Deer Mountain and Upper Beaver Meadow Loop, are clear and waiting. It's also prime wildlife season. Keep an eye out for elk calves in the meadows and bighorn sheep near Sheep Lakes.

Our historic, pet-friendly cabins are your comfortable basecamp, with essentials like a kitchenette and reliable WiFi. 🌲

Today was the first day of the season for the Raymond Store Café, and we’re feeling so grateful. ☕️

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for espresso, baked goods, a cold drink, a snack, or just a little rest by the river. It was so sweet to see neighbors, cyclists, guests, and friends gathering here again.

Good coffee, homemade treats, mountain air, and a shady spot by the river. Hard to beat.

We’ll be open again tomorrow from 8 AM to 12 PM, and every weekend through Labor Day, maybe longer, weather permitting.

Come say hi, grab a coffee, and stay a little while.

Remember when family time didn't have a screen in the middle of it?

It’s a real challenge. Those tools meant to connect us can leave us feeling miles apart. A real-life disconnect needs a change of scenery.

Our historic cabins near Rocky Mountain National Park are your basecamp. The question isn't what to watch, but which trail to hike - Sprague Lake or Alberta Falls? Evenings are for reconnecting over board games, puzzles, and rock painting, all stocked in your cabin.

It's a classic dilemma. You want an authentic experience, but not at the expense of comfort. At Raymond Store Cabins, we believe you shouldn't have to compromise.

Our historic cabins are the perfect practical home base for exploring Rocky Mountain National Park. Spend your day hiking to roaring spring waterfalls like Ouzel and Alberta Falls, then come back to a cozy space with secure WiFi and a kitchenette to plan tomorrow's adventure.

Ever wonder how we can keep our favorite trails near Estes Park and RMNP beautiful for generations to come?

A fantastic new local initiative, BoulderWise, is here to help. It's a practical partnership between Visit Boulder and the Leave No Trace organization, offering common-sense tips to protect the places we cherish.

It’s more than just packing out trash. It gets into the specifics, like why even an apple core can harm wildlife and the importance of staying on the trail (even when it's muddy!) to protect fragile plants.

It’s a community commitment to ensure these incredible landscapes are here for our kids and grandkids to enjoy. 🌲

Planning a trip near Allenspark or Nederland? Here's an important trail update you'll want to see.

Heads up, adventurers: Boulder Falls is closed indefinitely. A winter rockslide caused significant damage to the trail, and there's no timeline for reopening yet. It’s a good reminder of how dynamic our mountain landscapes are.

But this doesn't mean your hiking plans are on hold! It's a great opportunity to discover some other fantastic local trails.

If you're looking for waterfalls, try these alternatives:
- Forsythe Canyon Trail near Nederland: An easy-to-moderate hike with several beautiful cascades, perfect with the spring runoff.
- Ouzel Falls in RMNP: For a bit more of a challenge, start from the Allenspark Trailhead for a great waterfall reward.

For climbers who used the area to access Dream Canyon, the recommended alternate route is via Sugarloaf Road.

Always have a plan B when heading into the mountains, and be sure to check official sites for the latest trail statuses. Stay safe and enjoy the adventure! 🏔️
