Due to the shortage of Lifeguards, the following beaches will not be guarded for the remainder of the season: 3rd Street - 5th Street and 27th Street - 31st Street in Ship Bottom.

Mark your calendars for the next night climb, and the last one of the summer season, Saturday, August 29th, from 6:30-9 pm! Live entertainment by the popular Bayside Ukulele Club of Stafford.
Please come early to insure you get to climb! (The last climber goes up at 8:30 pm.) Sunset will be at 7:34 a week from tonight, so views will be most spectacular from 7-8 pm.
Our night climbs are free for all, and the atmosphere is fantastic!

☘️ The Ocean County Irish Festival is moving to a new home!

The 10th Anniversary Ocean County Irish Festival returns Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11 AM–7 PM at the Robert J. Miller Airpark in Berkeley Township — the home of the Ocean County Fair.

This family- and pet-friendly celebration offers FREE admission and FREE parking, plus a full day of live Irish music, pipe bands, Irish dancers, vendors, food, a beer garden, raffles, and a Celtic Kids Zone.

🎶 Featuring The Natterjacks, The John Byrne Band, Ocean County Emerald Society Pipes & Drums, Shamrock & Thistle Pipes & Drums, The Drunken Clams, and more!

Beyond the celebration, the festival helps support local charities and community organizations through the fundraising efforts of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh.

It's National Lighthouse Day! Celebrate with Barnegat Lighthouse State Park - kids under 12 can climb Old Barney free today!

Happy National Lighthouse Day!
Kids under 12 can climb the lighthouse for free today, Aug. 7, courtesy of the Friends of Barnegat Lighthouse State Park. Other fun activities for kids to celebrate the day are being held at the visitors center from 10-2, and include earning a Junior Lighthouse Keeper certificate!
National Lighthouse Day was officially designated in 1989 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the August 7, 1789 approval of the federal act for the establishment and support of lighthouses, beacons, buoys, and public piers. Our favorite lighthouse, Old Barney, first shone its beacon on January 1, 1859.
