The wildfire risk is increasing across Comanche County and we need your help. The extreme heat and drying conditions are increasing the potential for wildfires across Comanche County.
As vegetation continues to dry out, one small spark can quickly become a large fire. Please use extra caution with anything that can create heat, flames, or sparks outdoors.
✅ Avoid outdoor burning during hot, dry, or windy conditions
✅ Secure trailer chains so they do not drag on the roadway
✅ Never park or drive over tall, dry grass
✅ Properly extinguish ci******es and other smoking materials
✅ Use caution with welding, mowing, grinding, and other equipment that can create sparks
✅ Keep vehicles and equipment maintained and free of dry vegetation buildup
Most wildfires are preventable. A little extra caution now can help protect homes, property, our communities, and our volunteer firefighters.
If you see a fire, report it immediately by calling 911.
