Hey there, figured it’s time for a proper intro. 👋
I'm Kiefer and this is Cougar, I was raised right here in Midland County, Michigan, being born in St. Petersburg and moving here when I was 8, Midland was and still is considered my hometown.
Every float that we offer here in Midland? I’ve done them all—long before I even hit double digits in age. I grew up just a few miles from the access sites and grew to love these rivers from a young age.
The same goes for Cadillac, over the past few years I've explored in and out the woods and waters.
The idea for this business was sparked back in high school, paddling from the M30 Bridge to the Tridge. Something about that stretch and the other public launches in Midland stuck with me. Years later, it’s come full circle—sharing those same waters with others.
I still spend my falls out in the mountains, chasing elk and peace of mind. I've been a part of multiple organizations that protect our public lands and waters along with the rights that go along with that. From Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, Trout Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and many other organizations I have personally partnered with, will also be partners in the future with the business and receive a specific proportion of revenue to further their works protecting our outdoors.
Eventually, Cougar and I will take this operation back to where I was born, setting up a second home base in St. Pete for the winter. But no matter where we go, Midland will always be where it started.
