Welcome to the Brisbane House Vacation Rental! William Henry Brisbane was born and raised in the deep South but soon learned he didn’t belong because he vehemently opposed slavery. He made his way to Arena, Wisconsin, where he built this house in 1868 from stone carved from the nearby bluff. Raven’s Wing B&B is located in Ely, MN at “the end of the road”. They are 20 miles south of the Canadian border deep in the Boreal woods of Northern Minnesota. Theirs is an area of beautiful forests, lakes and streams. Ely is known as the gateway to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and offers unlimited outdoor recreation in all seasons of the year. The town has been named the best small town to visit by many publications, most recently in Smithsonian in 2021. They have wonderful festivals in winter, summer and fall.

Raven’s Wing is a small B&B located in a quiet neighborhood on the edge of town. They are a short walk away to downtown with its shops, galleries and restaurants. Just across the road is a 4-mile hiking, biking, running, skiing trail around Miners Lake. Their property has extensive flower gardens with hundreds of tulips, daffodils and perennials. Something is in bloom from spring through fall.
